What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high intensity fitness program incorporating elements from several sports and type of exercise.  It is constantly varied, functional movements, such as pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying, jumping, movements that reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting , running, rowing and lots more.

Intensity is essential for results —the more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.

The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness supported by measurable, observable and repeatable results. It is a deliberate attempt to optimise physical competence in each of ten recognised fitness domains. They are as follows:

  • Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance
  • Stamina
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Power
  • Speed
  • Coordination
  • Agility
  • Balance
  • Accuracy

The CrossFit Program was developed to enhance an individuals competency at all physical tasks. And, while CrossFit challenges the world’s fittest, the program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the program.
